Everybody needs somebody.

You know how I mentioned in my caption the other day about something my coaching said? If not, you can read the post HERE.

But I’ll also summarize it here:

“No person is an island. At one time I was very headstrong and had a hard time connecting with others that I thought exhibited “weaknesses”. As I’ve grown older, I’ve realized each of us truly do have aspects of ourselves that can be bolstered by others. So we have two choices… work together and truly grow, or be stuck in our own corner, lacking the fuel needed to make those changes.”

What does that saying mean to you when you hear it? “No person is an island”.

No person stands alone.

No person is self-sufficient.

No person exists in isolation.

No person thrives alone.

Everyone relies on others.

It’s comforting really.

Yes, I enjoy my alone time and sometimes really need it – but I am not alone. I am not in the ocean, by my lonesome – roughing it. I do not have waves beating against me, parched, craving another island to come into sight.

You are also not alone. You are interconnected in this interdependent society. Not only do you have others that YOU rely on, but also others rely on you.

Everybody needs somebody.

I’m thankful for my somebodies. The people who are there for me – no questions asked. The ones, who stand by me, neigh – hold me up – even when I’m pushing them away. The ones that make me thrive.

We can work together and truly grow, or be stuck in our own corner, lacking the fuel needed to make those changes.

So stop sitting in your own damn corner alone. Grow. Push others to grow. Thrive. Bolster others. Be a “somebody” for somebody. And remember that no man is an island.

Keep doing hard things

Xx Sue
